Regarding Children In Families First
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Later today at the Christian Alliance for Orphans Summit, Senator Mary Landrieu will announce her plans to introduce major legislation which will ensure that U.S. foreign assistance puts into action the core American belief that all children have the right to grow up in a permanent, loving family. See below for an email from the Senator regarding her announcement.
The legislation combined with the launch of the USG Action Plan for Children in Adversity gives our community a unique opportunity to begin turning the tide and expand our work for children and families.
As I mentioned during our April 25th Partner webinar, Around The World In 60 Minutes, as the legislation is further crafted and introduced, we will be asking for your active and strong support. We will continue to work with the Senator and other Members of Congress on this and other important pieces of legislation which further support our collective service to children, but we can’t do it without you, so please be on the lookout for further Joint Council Updates.
