THE disgraced peer Lord Archer has launched a concerted campaign to take revenge on enemies whom he believes helped engineer his downfall.

The multi-millionaire novelist is pursuing his staunchest adversaries as he prepares for his release from prison in two weeks’ time. First in line is Baroness Emma Nicholson.

Archer blames her for landing him with a harsher jail regime after she called in police to investigate the alleged disappearance of millions of pounds from his charity, Simple Truth.

Archer has now written to Nicholson, using data protection laws, to demand she hands over all papers and computer files relating to her allegations.

The demand appears to be part of a campaign of legal action against Nicholson and others who have added to the peer’s misery. This includes:

A move by a Tory colleague to revive a dormant legal action against Nicholson over disputed book royalties.
