Children's rights in the Netherlands / KINDERRECHTEN IN NEDERLAND - UNICEF

UNICEF is not only fighting for children's rights worldwide. In the Dutch Kingdom, too, we monitor whether the government complies with the agreements in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Children's rights in the Netherlands Every country that has ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child must report to the Committee on the Rights of the Child every five years on how children's rights are progressing. So also the Dutch state. The Committee on the Rights of the Child , in turn, reports to the United Nations General Assembly every two years. At the beginning of 2021, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child entered into discussions with the government, young people and civil society organisations, including the Children's Rights Collective, of which UNICEF is a part. In May 2021 , the collective released the fifth NGO report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child .
