Worldwide Orphan Foundation
In spite of all she does to care for adopted children, Dr. Aronson realizes there are thousands upon thousands of orphans who will never enjoy the care of a loving family. She founded WWO to help the children who are left behind.
Since its founding, WWO has sponsored medical and university students to live and work in orphanages, providing care to thousands of children in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe. WWO has complemented these efforts with training programs for healthcare professionals and orphanage caregivers in areas such as growth assessment, development tests and occupational therapy.
As the global AIDS epidemic deepens, WWO has broadened its focus to address the growing number of children infected by the disease. WWO is providing previously unavailable anti-retroviral treatments to HIV positive orphans in Viet Nam and Ethiopia, while training local physicians in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pediatric HIV/AIDS.
