Adoptiepedia

Stichting Adoptiepedia is a Dutch foundation focused on providing information, advocacy , and support to individuals adopted from China and Taiwan to the Netherlands. The foundation functions as a knowledge platform and network for adoptees and addresses themes such as identity , ancestry, the search for roots , and adoption-related issues.

History

The Adoptiepedia Foundation originated as a private initiative on social media and was formally established as a foundation in 2020. [ 1 ] It was founded during a period when there was increasing public attention in the Netherlands to the consequences of intercountry adoption and the experiences of adoptees themselves.

Objective

According to its statutory objective, the Adoptiepedia Foundation focuses on collecting, making accessible, and sharing information about adoption from China and Taiwan, with particular attention to the perspective of adoptees. Additionally, the foundation aims to contribute to public knowledge about adoption and to mutual exchange among adoptees. [ 2 ]
