After spending over two years going through the adoption process a local family are worried about actually getting their kids to Canada after the bankruptcy of their agency: Imagine Adoption.
Mark and Sharla Kostelyk have adopted a 5 year old Ethiopian boy and his 3 year old sister.
Sharla says even though they haven't met their children yet they've already formed a bond. "It's difficult for some people who haven't experienced adoption before, to understand how deeply you love these children. It's just like when you're pregnant and you begin to form a bond with your baby before you've even met them. We already love these kids, and we can't wait to meet them."
Mark will be leaving for Ethiopia on Monday. Now that the agency is facing financial turmoil the Kostelyks want to make sure their little boy and girl will have enough food and medical care.
The Canadian government is working on getting visas for all the children who have been adopted by Canadian parents through the agency. (jg,blb)
