The Spanish tonadillera Isabel Pantoja should return to testify before the Peruvian anti-corruption prosecutor under the new open preliminary investigation against him for alleged illegal adoption of a Peruvian girl during the administration of former President Alberto Fujimori.

La tonadillera española Isabel Pantoja deberá volver a prestar declaración ante la Fiscalía Anticorrupción peruana en el marco de la nueva investigación preliminar abierta en su contra por la presunta adopción irregular de una niña peruana durante el Gobierno del ex presidente Alberto Fujimori.
Así lo dispuso el fiscal Jorge Chávez Cotrina, quien remitirá una carta rogatoria a las autoridades judiciales españolas con el fin de recabar la ampliación del testimonio de la cantante española ante la aparición de nuevas evidencias sobre el caso, según informa la prensa peruana, recogida por Europa Press.
Las nuevas preguntas serán cursadas por Chávez a la Fiscalía de la Nación, que posteriormente debe trasladarlas al Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, que a su vez deberá hacerlo llegar a las autoridades judiciales en España, en el marco del convenio de colaboración internacional penal que existe entre ambos países.
Anteriormente, la fiscal anticorrupción Juana Mesa Peña recabó el testimonio de Isabel Pantoja en una investigación que dirigió sobre este caso, que tuvo que ser archivado al no encontrarse vínculos entre la cantante española y los supuestos actos ilícitos cometidos en este caso.
Hace dos años Pantoja negó ante las autoridades peruanas que la adopción de su hija se realizara de manera irregular y de hecho aseguró que no conocía al ex asesor presidencial Vladimiro Montesinos, mano derecha de Fujimori quien presuntamente ayudó a la cantante a agilizar los trámites.
La cantante fue investigada en el año 2003 por un presunto pago irregular de 80.000 dólares a Montesinos para acelerar el trámite de adopción de una niña peruana en 1996. Pero Pantoja aseguró que todo el dinero empleado en los trámites de adopción fue "para los abogados y para la notaría" que se encargaron del proceso legal.
Sin embargo, una policía peruana que fue guardaespaldas de Pantoja cuando estuvo en Perú y que después fue dada de baja por múltiples procesos judiciales por estafa ha asegurado recientemente en España que fue testigo de los pagos ilícitos realizados por la cantante al entonces asesor de Fujimori.
A finales de 2003 Isabel Pantoja compareció ante el juez de la Audiencia Nacional Guillermo Ruiz Polanco, a petición de las autoridades peruanos, ocasión en la que negó que cometiera irregularidades o pagara cantidad alguna para facilitar la adopción de su hija María Isabel.
