At Alliance welcomes this a new approach welcome, but are skeptical that it can remove the doubt that gnaws at all Danes who have adopted a child from Ethiopia.

- There is a need for a long term solution. Unity has already proposed an independent oversight that can be done either by independent NGOs or employees directly by the Danish state. In light of recent developments in the case of DanAdopt, I would strongly urge that supervision be changed, says Pernille Skipper.

Adoption and Society welcomes the initiative:

- We have always said that there is no adoption professionalism in the adoption process, and that we do not live up to the Hague Convention in all cases.

- We are considering for adoption must be more open, but it is important to emphasize that it must be based on an adoption professional standards, says Jens Damkjær from Adoption and Society.
