The Opportunity Circle, the best start for every child

In Scotland the development and opportunities of children are central. They focus on an inclusive society and embed this in their legislation, education, the community and in culture. GIRFEC MODEL In 2016, Scotland introduced the concept of "Getting it right for every child" (GIRFEC), to be used in policy development and daily inclusive practice for everyone who works with and around children, young people and their parents. The GIRFEC model forms a framework that is used in youth policy and the development and support of children, their parents, families and schools. In order to see together with the child what is needed to get the best out of his or her development and to offer tools for achieving this. CHANCE CIRCLE The Netherlands Youth Institute developed the Dutch Opportunities Circle in 2018 in collaboration with the Association for Youth and the Tilburg region. Central to the Circle of Opportunities is the well-being and well-being of children to give them the best start in life. This involves working with eight development areas as the basis for children's development. 1. Active 2. Respected 3. Responsible 4. Belonging 5. Safe 6. Healthy 7. Deployment 8. Nurtured To shape the best pedagogical vision and practice together, the Opportunity Circle continues to develop. However, the current version can already be downloaded for use within organizations or teams to work together on an inclusive environment. In the coming year, various young people, parents and professionals will also be working with the Opportunity Circle to make it an even smarter tool. In Schotland staan de ontwikkeling en kansen van kinderen centraal. Ze richten zich op een inclusieve samenleving en verankeren dit in hun wetgeving, het onderwijs, de gemeenschap en in de cultuur.

GIRFEC MODEL

In 2016 introduceerde Schotland het gedachtengoed ‘Getting it right for every child' (GIRFEC), om te gebruiken in de beleidsontwikkeling en de dagelijkse inclusieve praktijk voor iedereen die werkt met en rond kinderen, jongeren en hun ouders.

Het GIRFEC model vormt een kader dat gebruikt wordt in het jeugdbeleid en de ontwikkeling en ondersteuning van kinderen, hun ouders, gezinnen en scholen. Om zo samen met het kind te kijken wat nodig is om het beste uit zijn of haar ontwikkeling te halen en handvaten te bieden om dit te bereiken.

KANSENCIRKEL

Het Nederlands Jeugdinstituut ontwikkelde in samenwerking met de Associatie voor Jeugd en de regio Tilburg in 2018 de Nederlandse Kansencirkel.

Centraal in de Kansencirkel staat het welzijn en welbevinden van kinderen om hen de beste start in het leven te geven. Hierbij wordt gewerkt met acht ontwikkelgebieden als basis voor de ontwikkeling van kinderen.

Om samen de beste pedagogische visie en praktijk vorm te geven blijft de Kansencirkel in ontwikkeling. Toch kan de huidige versie al gedownload worden voor gebruik binnen organisaties of teams om samen te werken aan een inclusieve omgeving. Ook gaan het komend jaar verschillende jongeren, ouders en professionals aan de slag met de Kansencirkel om er een nog slimmere tool van te maken.
