French life beckons two brothers from Vadodara orphaned at young age

VADODARA: Six-year-old Rahul and three-year-old Kadu — two brothers who made the Nizampura Shishugruh their home —

after losing their parents a couple of years ago to illness.

However, fate had another home designed for the Surat-born siblings. They got a fresh lease of life when a French couple,

Vincent Pierre (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Vincent-Pierre) Marie Padel and Christine Nadia Lapinsonniere, got

permission to adopt the two brothers.

“The kids had lost their father when they were in Surat. Their mother migrated to Mota Fofaliya in Vadodara district

(https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Vadodara-district) in search of work as a labourer,” said advocate Komal Kukreja, who

appeared for the adoption agency. However, a short period after the migration, the siblings were orphaned when their mother

too died of some illness.

“The villagers of Mota Fofaliya brought the brothers to the Shishugruh,” Kukreja added.

After the brothers were ready for adoption, Vincent and his wife Christine from Toulouse

(https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Toulouse) in France decided to adopt them in February. In August, the Central

Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) issued no-objection certificate as the couple too gave their undertakings. After the two

brothers also showed their willingness, the court allowed their adoption.

The court has asked the authorities issuing birth certificates to issue the birth certificate of the two kids with their new names –

Henri Rahul Marie Pedel and Emilien Kadu Marie Pedel – and their passports be also issued in accordance with the rules.

Kukreja said that after the procedures are done by the office of district collector, the French couple will be able to take the two

boys with them to their new home.
