Denmark's Mother Teresa has been helping children in India for 40 years

80-year-old Jessie Rosenmeier from Aalborg has made a difference for children in India through the humanitarian organization Terre des Hommes Denmark for 40 years. It will be marked with an anniversary gala in Copenhagen on June 3

It will be a touching experience for both them and 80-year-old Jessie Rosenmeier, who have traveled from Aalborg to India to visit some of the children she has helped to improve their lives through the humanitarian aid organization Terre des Hommes Denmark with food and education.

The cool Aalborg woman Jessie Rosenmeier has been helping children in India now for 40 years and she is Denmark's answer to India's legendary Nobel Prize recipient Mother Teresa, whom she also met during her first travels in India.

The work of providing fatherhood for children and money for street children projects in New Delhi and Mumbai has meant that Jessie Rosenmeier has visited India countless times, and last spring she was there with a special mail package for just 10-year-olds Sarita from her sponsor in Denmark.

Jessie Rosenmeier has held several positions in national and international organizations, including a presidency in Terre des Hommes Denmark from the late 1980s until the turn of the year 2000/2001. In addition, she has been involved in the preparation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

- I go on full force. Age is just a part of life, so I definitely expect to go to India many times to see how the projects and especially the children are doing, she said in connection with her 80th birthday.

Jessie Rosenmeier's daughter Dina Rosenmeier is also heavily involved in the work for the children of India, and she has worked for several years in the country, and she portrayed four years ago her mother's life in the movie "A Journey in My Mother's Footsteps".

Anniversary gala in Copenhagen

The 40 years of relief work in India would like to mark Terre des Homme's Denmark at an anniversary gala taking place on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at. From 17.30 to 20.30.
