The project “Together for Children: Stronger NGO Coalitions in the Black Sea Region” is continuing its mission to support cooperation among civil society networks in order to enhance their capacity to advocate for child protection reforms at the national, regional and international level.

As part of this initiative, NGO coalition representatives and state officials from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova will be in Bucharest between 23-27 June on a study visit. They will have the occasion to get acquainted with Romania’s experience with child protection reforms, meeting representatives of local and international NGOs as well as government officials engaged in child care.

The agenda includes visits to Bucharest’s General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection, SOS Children Villages, World Vision, UNICEF, SERA Romania, ANPDCA and Asociatia Fratilor Maristi. A seminar on regional cooperation and learning in child protection will conclude the study visit.

Romanian experts and practitioners will share with their colleagues from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova their experience with the process of de-institutionalisation and other child protection reforms that were implemented in the last 25 years. Indeed, sharing knowledge at the regional level in order to promote best practices is one of the key objectives of the initiative.

The project Together for Children: Stronger NGO Coalitions in the Black Sea is financed by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Romanian Official Development Assistance and implemented through UNDP – BRC (Bratislava Regional Center), in partnership with World Vision Romania and the Romanian Federation of Child NGOs (FONPC).
