The Chilean criminal investigation on suspected illegal adoptions from Chile is growing. Now more than 600 Swedish cases are included in the investigation. The adopted requires a Swedish investigation - but it is still far away.
Nina Hugosson from Burträsk which is one of the cases included in the investigation . She thinks the scope is hard to grab.
"Crazy, that's crazy," she says.
At the beginning of the year, she found her biological mother Rosita, Ana Rosa Altamirano Tejo, whom she believed to be dead throughout her life.
"Strange feeling"
Rosita believes that her two children are stolen from her. In September, after 40 years, she had the son Donne renamed José Luis and her daughter Vanessa.
- A strange feeling to have been Nina throughout her life and now suddenly, being the one I was born, Vanessa, says Nina.
More than 600 adoptions to Sweden were investigated
Her story is just one of a growing number of Swedish cases of suspected illegal adoptions currently being investigated in Chile.
Judge Mario Carrozas Espino's staff now has in document to the Chileadoption.se association that SVT News has acknowledged that approximately 3200 cases were registered in the investigation.
Of these, 630 are about adoptions to Sweden.
"Terrible that Sweden can not meet Chile"
"We are very many and I think it's terrible that Sweden can not meet Chile in this. All of course, it all began, but at least, Sweden has also anchored and has its responsibility in this, says Nina Hugosson.
She aims at the MFoF Department of Family Law and Maternity Care, awaiting the investigation into Chile, and does not initiate an investigation in Sweden about how, for example, district court and social services approved the adoptions.
Adds responsibility to the government
"It is not MFoF's mission to launch such a broad investigation, but it is something that the government may decide in that case that a government investigation will be put in place that looks at how the advisory service appeared during this time," replies Director General Kristina Svartz .

Visited Chile and met the referee
According to Kristina Svartz, the first step is to know what is coming out of the Chilean investigation.
She personally visited the country this spring and met the judge who had already made it clear that the investigation, which became widely known at the beginning of the year, could grow.

"We have asked for a Skype meeting to get new and expanded information about the investigation," says the Director General.
For Nina Hugosson, the most important thing is now to help her mother through the trial process in Chile.
- She is looking for some kind of retaliation for the mistakes committed when she has kidnapped her children.
